• Themes are required to use core-bundled scripts, if using such scripts (jquery)

• No CSS files other than style.css must be hard-coded into the document head. (These files must either be enqueued and hooked in appropriately, or added using IE conditional tags.)

• No scripts or script file links must be hard-coded into the document head. (These must be enqueued and hooked in appropriately.)

• Themes are REQUIRED to use get_template_directory()/get_stylesheet_directory() instead of TEMPLATEPATH/STYLESHEETPATH

• Themes are required to use a unique slug as a prefix for anything in the public namespace, including all custom function names, classes, hooks, public/global variables, database entries (Theme options, post custom metadata, etc.)
  • Themes are recommended to use theme-slug as this unique slug

• Theme is required to incorporate Automatic Feed Links: add_theme_support( 'automatic-feed-links' )

• Proper way to remove the gallery style:

  add_filter( 'use_default_gallery_style', '__return_false' );
  

• Since Theme is translation-ready, all public facing text must be translatable

• REQUIRED: Please make sure that your Theme is adherent to the ​Theme Development and ​Theme Review Guidelines, and tested with the ​Theme Unit Test prior to resubmission.
