  • Use new WP_Query() for slider loop query. Do not use query_posts(). (See e.g. header.php)
  • To modify the main loop query, filter the $query object via pre_get_posts. Do not use query_posts(). (See e.g. template-blog.php)
  • These are Plugin territory: http://themes.svn.wordpress.org/photogram/1.1.6/functions/admin-shortcodes.php
  • This is (mostly) Plugin territory: http://themes.svn.wordpress.org/photogram/1.1.6/functions/admin-seo.php
  • Most/all "SEO" related Theme options are Plugin territory
  • PressTrends must be disabled by default
  • This license term in readme.txt does not appear to be GPL-compatible:
All derivative Themes must be much different from the original
work, which includes the Theme design as well as all the codes
    from Photogram Theme.
  • These two license terms are contradictory and confusing:
It's GPL so yes you can base your Themes from Photogram
please note that if you do the GPLv3 License needs to stay
as well as all copyright notices included in all parts of
this Theme as well as third-party add-ons as listed above.

You may remove any copyright references (unless required by third party components) and crediting is not necessary.
  • Use selcted() and checked() where appropriate in form fields.
  • Remove function_exists() conditional wrapper from all core WordPress functions introduced prior to WordPress 3.3.
  • All Theme-defined functions must be properly namespaced, via themeslug prefix
  • Alternate RSS links are Plugin territory
  • Facebook OpenGraph integration is Plugin territory
  • Do not claim site copyright by the Theme in the footer. Site copyright belongs to the site owner
  • Theme may include only one footer credit link
  • Custom Post Types and Custom Taxonomies are Plugin territory
  • Analytics are Plugin territory

This is not a complete review.

This Theme was previously approved, but due to the issues noted above, should not have been. Due to the large number of required issues, this Theme has been suspended, and will require a full review upon re-submission.

Hi Chip,

I think for plugin territory, it will be hard for user. To get all feature of some theme they must install the theme and the plugin too. User must be doing two work. I put all the features in theme, it mean user just install the theme and they will be have all feature without install the plugin.
Can you tell me where is it the specification for all rule of Plugin territory?

Awaiting your response.
