Hi,

Would I know how long the manual review process takes before the theme is approved in the wordpress directory?

Thanks

Preliminary review - https://make.wordpress.org/themes/2014/12/26/preliminary-theme-review-process/ will be within 30 days, give or take.

Side note: How to, news sites are not acceptable, you might want to change that.

Hey there,

Here are the first notes:

Not matched requirements.
# The theme code includes the plugin OptionTree. All code should be written by you or legally your's. You can recommend a plugin but not include the whole plugin code written by someone else into the theme's code. Same goes for 'TGM-Plugin-Activation';
# News sites are not acceptable as Theme/Author URI;
# Prefix mismatch - theme's name is Trigger, there are functions without prefix, for example the function _custom_meta_boxes. Also, custom global variables are missing prefix (e.g. in functions.php);

Since these might require some time, I'll continue after these have been fixed.

I'll keep the ticket open for a week, if you need more time, let me know!

Regards,
M.

Small clarification. Legality is no issue here because just like themes plugins are also released under the same license.

Authors can incorporate plugins if they choose, meaning that plugin is part of the theme itself, we can't however include one and ask users to activate over TGM or similar.

At the same time author is allowed to use TGM and recommend a plugin that is hosted in WordPress directory.

Codes don't need to be written by the same author and all we ask is to be GPL or compatible and to credit where credit is due.

Thank you for the clarification!

Based on that, as I understand, all the used resources -- in this case OptionTree and TGM -- must be declared properly, then it's okay to incorporate the code into the theme.

M.
