Hi @kapilsharma12

I am reviewing your theme and it has unfortunately not been approved for the following reasons:

Required - The theme name needs to be more unique as it is too similar to the parent theme

Recommended - Perhaps it would be a better option adding an option to the parent theme for the changes this theme is applying rather than having a separate child theme.

Hello @kapilsharma12

I'll go ahead and reopen this ticket as the the reviewer has not demonstrated that the theme has more than 5 issues.

With regards to the theme name, please change the name to be more unique and resubmit the theme. The child theme should not contain the parent theme name. When you resubmit the theme a new ticket will be created. Please link to that ticket so @liamdickinson can continue the review in the new ticket. You can begin your review right away, as you're simply moving the review for this ticket to the new ticket for the new theme name.

hi @liamdickinson

i have uploaded new theme with name change.

I'm actually going to object to making the theme author change the name in this case. That's a misunderstanding of our rule to not use the parent theme name. That rule was meant to be used in cases of the child theme author not owning the parent theme. It's to protect the brand or trademark of the parent theme author. Because the parent and child theme author are the same person here, that's a non-issue.

@kapilsharma12 - Would you like to keep the original name or move forward with the new name?

The following items must be corrected for the theme to be approved and set live in the theme directory. You have 7 days to make the necessary changes. If, after that time, you haven't made the changes, the theme will be closed as "not approved". If you need more time than the 7 days, just let me know by commenting here in this ticket. I can keep the ticket open longer.

Demo Content

Demo content should not be shown on the front end of the site. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Slider content.
  • Recent works.
  • Awesome services.
  • Our Callout.
  • Our Clients.
  • Phone number and email.
  • Social links.

Front Page

When the user has the front page set to show posts, the theme must display the standard posts page. A custom front page should not be shown when is_home() is true.

Content Creation

The following items fall under our "Content Creation" guideline and must be corrected for the theme to go live. By "content creation" I mean that a theme should not be used to create content stored via theme options.

  • Everything under the "Home Page Settings" section in the customizer. Use existing user content, such as posts or pages for this feature or integrate with plugins that provide these features.

Use get_stylesheet_uri()

To get the proper stylesheet, use get_stylesheet_uri() for your style.css URI here in functions.php:

wp_enqueue_style( 'cosmica-green-style', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/style.css', array( $parent_style ));

Licensing

We need links to all the images used in the screenshot so that we can properly verify their license and copyright. You've only listed one image. There are 5 used in the screenshot.

Please see this tutorial on properly adding license and copyright info: https://make.wordpress.org/themes/2014/07/08/proper-copyrightlicense-attribution-for-themes/

hi @greenshady

i have submitted plugin for sections.

i need to ask a question.

will it be OK if i show images default image if no image selected. on slider, projects, and client logo.
https://make.wordpress.org/themes/2016/12/06/december-6-meeting-notes/

Thanks.

Can you show a default image when there's not one connected to the content? For example, if you're displaying a post that doesn't have a featured image, you can output a default featured image.

Can you simply display demo images by default on the user's site? No, don't do that.
